The Office of the Ingham County Drain Commissioner is the designated County Enforcing Agency for soil erosion and sedimentation control in areas of Ingham County that are not served by a Municipal Enforcing Agency (City of Lansing, City of East Lansing, City of Mason, Charter Township of Lansing, Charter Township of Meridian and Charter Township of Delhi).  Authority for the program comes from Part 91 of Act 451 Public Acts of 1994, as amended.

In an effort to better serve Ingham County residents, the Drain Commissioner is planning to make the permit application available for submittal and payment on-line. We are in partnership with the Ingham County MIS department to resolve technical and policy obstacles.

Today the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Permit application can be downloaded as a PDF via the link below and submitted to the Drain Office electronically or by mail.  On-line Permit application is not yet available but is coming soon.

When a Permit is not needed, the Waiver application can be either downloaded as a PDF and submitted to the Drain Office electronically or by mail, or, can be submitted directly on-line (see link below).
